Terms & Conditions
For coaching with Blossom Divorce & Break Up Coaching
These terms explain how coaching with me works, what you can expect from me, and what I ask of you. I’ve tried to keep them clear and friendly. Please read them before booking, and get in touch if anything is unclear. By booking a session or package, you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Blossom Divorce & Break Up Coaching is run by Sarah Jaques, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. In these terms, “I”, “me” and “Blossom” mean Sarah Jaques trading as Blossom Divorce & Break Up Coaching, and “you” means the person receiving coaching.
You can contact me at:
- Address: available on request
- Email: pausehealrestart@gmail.com
2. The nature of coaching
I offer one-to-one coaching for people going through divorce, separation or a break-up. Sessions are held online via Zoom.
Coaching is a supportive, forward-focused partnership. It helps you gain clarity, build confidence and decide on your own next steps. Please be aware that:
- Coaching is not therapy, counselling or psychotherapy, and it is not a substitute for medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice.
- I don’t diagnose or treat any medical or mental-health condition, and I can’t advise you on legal matters such as divorce proceedings, child arrangements or financial settlements.
- You remain responsible for your own choices, actions and results, both during and after our work together. I can’t guarantee any particular outcome.
- If I feel that another kind of professional support (for example your GP, a counsellor, a solicitor or a financial adviser) would serve you better, I’ll tell you honestly and may suggest pausing or ending coaching.
If you are under the care of a medical or mental-health professional, I’d encourage you to let them know you’re starting coaching.
3. Booking, discovery calls and packages
Free discovery call. You’re welcome to book a free, no-obligation discovery call. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and see whether coaching with me is right for you. There is no charge and no commitment to book further sessions.
Booking. You can book single sessions or a coaching package. A booking is confirmed once I have confirmed it in writing (usually by email) and, where applicable, received payment as set out in section 4. Our contract begins at that point.
Packages. Each package includes the number and length of sessions described when you book. Package sessions should be used within the period agreed when you book, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Unused sessions can’t usually be carried over beyond this period.
I may decline a booking if I don’t think coaching is the right support for you at that time.
4. Fees and payment
- Initial session (60 minutes, via Zoom): £50.
- Session and package fees: please get in touch for current session fees. I’ll confirm the price in writing before you book.
- Payment terms: payment is required in advance by bank transfer to confirm a session. A session isn’t confirmed until payment has been received.
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. I’ll always confirm the price before you book. If I change my prices, the change won’t affect sessions or packages you have already booked and paid for.
5. Cancelling or rescheduling a session
If you need to change a session: life happens, and I understand that. If you give me at least 24 hours’ notice, I’ll happily reschedule at no extra cost. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or don’t attend, the session may be charged in full or counted as used from your package. I’ll always consider genuine emergencies with compassion.
Lateness: if you arrive late, the session will usually still finish at the planned time so that later clients aren’t affected.
If I need to change a session: if I have to cancel or reschedule, I’ll give you as much notice as I can and offer another time. If we can’t find a suitable alternative, I’ll refund you for that session in full.
6. Your 14-day right to cancel
If you book online, by phone or by email (rather than face to face), you have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of the day our contract begins, without giving a reason.
To cancel, just tell me clearly in writing, for example by emailing pausehealrestart@gmail.com. You don’t need to use any particular form.
If you ask for sessions to start within the 14 days: you can still cancel within the 14-day period, but I may charge a fair amount for any coaching already provided up to the point you tell me you’re cancelling. If all the coaching you paid for has been fully delivered within the 14 days at your request, and you acknowledged that you would lose your right to cancel once that happened, the right to cancel will no longer apply.
I’ll refund any money due to you within 14 days of you telling me you wish to cancel, using the same payment method you used, unless we agree otherwise.
7. Refunds
Outside the 14-day cancellation period, fees for sessions that have already taken place are non-refundable. If you wish to end a package early, please talk to me and we’ll agree a fair refund for any unused sessions.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to services carried out with reasonable care and skill.
8. Confidentiality
What you share in our sessions is treated in confidence. I won’t share your personal information or what we discuss with anyone else without your permission, except in these limited situations:
- if I believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or to someone else;
- if I have a safeguarding concern about a child or a vulnerable adult;
- if I am required to by law, for example by a court order, or in connection with the prevention or detection of a serious crime.
Wherever it’s appropriate and safe, I’ll talk to you first before sharing anything. I may discuss anonymised details of my coaching practice in professional supervision, where no information that could identify you is shared.
9. Your personal data
I handle your personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. My Privacy Policy explains what information I collect, why I collect it, how long I keep it, and your rights, including how to access or delete your information.
Any notes I make during coaching are kept securely and used only to support our work together.
10. Your commitments
Coaching works best as a partnership. I ask that you:
- come to sessions on time and in a suitable, private space where you can talk freely;
- be open and honest, and let me know if something isn’t working for you;
- tell me about anything relevant to your wellbeing, such as if you are receiving medical or mental-health support;
- don’t attend sessions under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs;
- treat our time together with respect. I’ll always do the same for you.
I may pause or end coaching if I believe it is no longer helpful or safe for you, or if behaviour becomes abusive or threatening. If this happens, I’ll refund you for any sessions you’ve paid for but not yet had.
11. Online sessions and technology
Online sessions take place on Zoom. Please make sure you have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, private space. Sessions are not recorded by either of us without the other’s written agreement.
If a technical problem on my side means a session can’t go ahead or is cut short, I’ll offer you a replacement session or time. If the problem is on your side, I’ll do my best to help us reconnect, but the session may still end at the planned time.
12. Coaching materials
Any worksheets, exercises, guides or other materials I give you remain my intellectual property (or that of the original creator). You’re welcome to use them for your own personal use, but please don’t copy, share, sell or publish them without my written permission.
13. Limitation of liability
I will provide coaching with reasonable care and skill. Because coaching relies on your own decisions and actions, I am not responsible for the choices you make or their results.
As far as the law allows, my total liability to you in connection with our coaching will be limited to the fees you have paid for the coaching concerned. I am not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you booked.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with any part of your coaching, please tell me as soon as possible by emailing pausehealrestart@gmail.com. I’ll listen, take your concerns seriously, and aim to reply within 14 days and to put things right where I can.
15. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how I work. The latest version will always be on this page with its “last updated” date. Changes won’t affect sessions or packages you have already booked, unless the law requires it.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
